Acupuncture Safety

We only use sterile, single use, disposable needles, which are discarded into bio-hazardous waste containers. Dr. Khanita is certified in Clean Needle Technique by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Cancellation Policy

Because initial appointments require extra time and time slots are tightly scheduled, we require new patients to provide 48 hours notice for cancellations. If you have missed an appointment with less than 48 hours notice, you will be responsible for the entire office visit fee. Thank you for your understanding.

For established patients, we require at least 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment. If you have missed or reschedule an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you will be responsible for the entire office visit fee.

If you find that you are running late for your appointment, please give the office a call to let us know. We will do our very best to accommodate you.

Payment and Insurance

We accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. Dr. Khanita is currently in-network with only Carefirst Bluecross Blueshield but patients are responsible for knowing their own benefits for acupuncture and chiropractic services. The front office will gladly verify the insurance benefits before your first appointment. Although we only bill a limited number of insurance companies, we can provide you with the superbill to submit for reimbursement.

We also accept all Health Spending Accounts (HSAs) and Flex Spending Accounts (FSAs).

The Day Of Your Visit

Please make sure to fill out the initial intake form so the doctor can review your complaint. Wear comfortable, loose clothing as acupuncture involves treatment of various parts of the body. Please make sure you have eaten and are hydrated well before your first appointment. For new patients, after the initial appointment it is good to take it easy for the rest of the day. Please refrain from any strenuous activities or excessive partying afterwards.
